Giorgio de Chirico. Aux origines du surréalisme belge: René Magritte, Paul Delvaux, Jane Graverol
February 16 - June 2, 2019

The Nahmad Collection is pleased to contribute to Giorgio de Chirico. Aux origines du surréalisme belge: René Magritte, Paul Delvaux, Jane Graverol.
Through a thematic tour revealing the atypical personality of Giorgio de Chirico, this exhibition invites the viewer to delve into the mysterious, dreamlike and poetic universe of the Italian artist. Beginning in 1910, de Chirico established himself as one of the pioneers of Modern art, whose work would inspire the birth of Surrealism.  In Belgium, the discovery of de Chirico’s work by René Magritte, Paul Delvaux and Jane Graverol would go on to drive the evolution of their practices. This exhibition offers an exciting dialogue between the three major figures of Belgian Surrealism and their model.
