The prolific and unclassifiable universe of the painter, sculptor, engraver and ceramist Joan Miró is invited to BAM!
From his academic training through his early Fauvist landscapes and still lifes to the influence of primitivism, Romanesque art and Japanese calligraphy, the exhibition "Joan Miró. L'essence des choses passées et présentes"covers the entire career of the Catalan artist.

Behind the deceptive innocence of a childish, naive style, lies a meticulous research. Composed of symbols and metaphors, Miró infuses his paintings with an "underlying magic" vibrant with energy.

About a hundred original works are presented (paintings, gouaches, drawings, ceramics, sculptures, personal objects...), from prestigious international public and private collections, including the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró (Palma de Mallorca), the Fundació Joan Miró (Barcelona), the Musée national Picasso-Paris, and the Fondation Maeght.

Immersive and interactive devices punctuate the tour to allow visitors to better understand the way Miró approached his creative process.
